NGO DARPAN is a unique portal that connects NGOs with key government agencies. NITI Aayog and the National Informatics Center jointly founded the NGO DARPAN. It enables the exchange of vital information between non-governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government agencies, agencies and ministries. NGOs can obtain important information about government subsidies and other benefits by completing the DARPAN NGO's online registration.

The NGO DARPAN also known as NITI Aayog registration is a free service provided by the NITI Aayog to NGOs and Voluntary Organizations in order to help them stay informed about new government programmes, grants, or schemes. The platform, which is a collaboration between the NITI Aayog and the National Informatics Center, would assist NGOs and the government develop deeper partnerships. Additionally, completing the NGO DARPAN registration process lends legitimacy and accountability to NGOs. Though the portal was first managed by the Prime Minister’s Office, it was eventually transferred to the NITI Aayog, with assistance from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Since then, the portal has evolved as an e-government tool to help promote more transparent and healthier interactions between governmental and non-governmental organizations. In addition, any NGO / VO registered as a company / trust / Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 may apply for NITI Aayog / Darpan NGO registration.

NGO DARPAN REGISTRATION PROCESS

Anyone can apply for registration through the NGO Darpan Registration web platform. Create a user id and password using a unique mobile number and email address. After that, select registration and fill out all of the essential information about the VO/NGO.

  • UNREGISTERED NGOs: Unregistered groups or individuals can no longer register for the NGO DARPAN program through the portal.
  • FOR NGO REGISTRATION ONLY: The DARPAN NGO portal helps NGOs obtain information on grants, apply for grants and monitor the status of their applications. Only Trust, Societies & Section-8 Companies can obtain Darpan NGO registration.
  • CREATE ID: To apply for money, an NGO must first register with the NGO DARPAN and create an ID. Users can then browse the available links to find out about grants and contact Nodal officials who run such programs for more information.
  • SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL ECONOMIC WELL-BEING : For security reasons, some characters are not allowed on the site. The form contains "?" help users understand certain characters to avoid using them, including '.', '', (apostrophe), '=' and some words
  • NO MINIMUM CAPITAL REQUIREMENTS A password is required for a password, at least one number, and more than six characters. If you want to upload a copy of your registration certificate, make sure it is less than 2 MB.
  • NO STAMPS: Applicants only need to upload copies of the first page and the signed page when uploading Credibility.

  • NGO's PAN Card
  • Address Proof of NGO
  • Adhaar card & PAN card of the Trustees/ Members/ Directors
  • Registration Certificate of Trust/ Society/ Section-8 Company
  • A valid mobile and email address of all the members.
  • A detailed description of the source of money or funding that has been received or is expected to be received.
  • A thorough account of what the governing body did or planned to do.
  • Details of three members of the governing body who serve on the executive committee on the below assigned posts:
    * Chairman/President, or an equivalent position
    * Secretary General (In-charge of Operation or equivalent post)
    * Treasurer/Financial Trustee or a comparable position

If the documents are suitable and meet all of the registration requirements, the application will be granted in 3-5 days. When your application is granted, one will be given a unique ID that they will use for all future communication with the government.

As of today, there is no need to renew your NGO Darpan registration; it is a one-time transaction.
No, there is no yearly compliance after NGO Darpan Registration; nevertheless, you must update the newest governing body details as soon as they change, and grant-related information must be updated on an annual basis.
