Types of MSMEs

The Indian government has classified enterprises into three types.

  • Micro Enterprise

Micro Enterprise

Small Enterprise

The Small Enterprise may include hotels, dry cleaners, etc. The funds invested in the Small Enterprise can be more than Rs 25 Lakhs and less than Rs 5 Crores.
Medium Enterprise
  • Medium Enterprise companies have less than 250 workers and the investments done in the Medium Enterprise must be between Rs 5 Crores to Rs 10 Crores..

Documents Required for MSME Registration

Following are some important details to be mentioned in the Application form:
  • 1. Aadhar Number;
  • 2. Name of the entrepreneur as per Aadhar Card;
  • 3. Organisation type such as Private or Public Limited Company, LLP, Proprietorship, HUF, Co-operative Society, Partnership Firm, Society or Trust;
  • 4. PAN Card;
  • 5. Gender;
  • 6. Office address of the enterprise;
  • 7. Account number and IFSC Code of the bank;
  • 8. Number of employees;
  • 9. Investment amount in plant & machinery (in case there is no investment in plant & machinery, entrepreneurs can write it as zero);
  • 10. Turnover;
  • 11. Location of unit or plant;
  • 12. Social categories such as OBC, General, SC or ST;
  • 13. Enterprise name;
  • 14. Commencement date of business or incorporation of enterprise registration;
  • 15.NIC Code of the primary activity;
  • 16. Business activity of an enterprise.

    In the 12 digit Aadhar Card is used to get the benefits from the Government of India. As its name suggests, the Government helps the various MSME businesses.
